Retreat Centres

Mangrove MtIf you are looking for a relaxing weekend away or life-long learning about Yoga, Satyananda Yoga has two major retreat centres in Australia offering weekend and week-long courses, yogic lifestyle programs, residential stays, teacher training, and in-depth accredited Yogic Studies programs.

Satyananda Yoga®
Mangrove (NSW)
Satyananda Yoga - Mangrove is located in a quiet country area amongst bush land on a tidal river. It is only an hour and a half drive from Sydney or 40 minutes from Gosford. There are wallabies, lyrebirds, misty mornings and glorious afternoons, friendly people to talk with, great walks, swimming and the space to unwind, rest and simply be.

Accommodation is in simple rooms usually with 2 or 3 people sharing or the option of upgrading to a single, twin or ensuite room. Family rooms are also available. Three hundred plus people can be accommodated, but the usual population is eighty to a hundred with forty or so being permanent residents of the centre.

The grounds and gardens are large with numerous little hidden nooks for sitting and reading or enjoying the sun. The yoga hall is grand and inviting, a haven for lectures, classes, contemplation and meditation.

Three delicious meals a day along with afternoon tea are provided as part of the retreats and courses. The menu is tasty, nutritious and vegetarian. Special dietary needs can be catered for with a little prior notice.

Families are welcome with children under 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children love the space and the bush surrounds and school holidays and weekends find many families staying. There are also special Family Yoga programs held regularly throughout the year.

Yoga Association of Mangrove Mountain conducts a variety of short courses and retreats at Satyananda Yoga Mangrove.

Yogic Studies, Teacher Training and Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training are conducted by Satyananda Yoga Academy.

Rocklyn CentreVisitors are welcome to stay for short or longer periods, with the opportunity to participate in a yogic lifestyle offering morning classes, midday yoga nidra - deep relaxation and varied evening programs. The daily program is intended to create a balance to experience a passive and active yogic environment.

Weekend courses in Relaxation, Meditation, Lifestyle, Hatha Yoga Cleansing, Children's Yoga, Yogic Philosophy and Mantra and Music are conducted by experienced Satyananda Yoga Teachers. In addition, there are the longer Yogic Studies and Teacher Training courses, which deliver a comprehensive grounding in the fundamentals of the ancient science of Yoga and provide the tools for living a whole and conscious life.
