Manly Yoga and Meditation Centre is located in a large, beautiful federation building with heritage listing. The peaceful atmosphere that permeates the Centre provides a unique and supportive sanctuary in the midst of modern society with its many stresses and demands. The Centre is well established and has been offering yoga to the community for over 30 years. It is well known to many of the health professionals on the North Shore who refer clients to our classes.

What we teach
Satyananda Yogaprovides everyone, regardless of social background, age, and level of fitness, with the tools for health, peace of mind and an inspired vision for their lives.
The Centre runs day and evening courses and casual classes consisting of postures, breathing practices, relaxation and meditation for beginners through to experienced students. Classes are also available for children, pre-natal, seniors and students with various health needs.

MantraFlexible course attendance
The Centre offers a number of different times for people to attend classes and courses and so cater for the needs of students with a range of work and family commitments. If you are enrolled in a course and are unable to attend your regular class, the yoga centre supports you to make up your class at a more appropriate time, or transfer to another course (where available) within the term.


The teachers
Manly Yoga and Meditation Centre is affiliated with Satyananda Yoga Academy.
Our teachers are accredited Satyananda Yoga teachers. They are trained in teaching the wholistic system of Satyananda Yoga® and continually upgrade their yogic knowledge both in Australia and overseas at Bihar Yoga Bharati (Bihar University of Yogic Studies in India).

Our teachers have yoga teaching experience in many different areas, including schools, hospitals, prisons, aged care centres, drug and alcohol units, yoga for the physically and mentally disabled, yoga for cancer patients, and yoga for war veterans. Apart from classes listed in the timetable, teachers are available to give private classes and run classes/workshops for groups e.g. corporate and community organisations.

Workshops, retreats, regular events
The Centre offers regular workshops and seminars on various aspects of Yoga practice and Yoga philosophy, as well as other regular events, including family yoga and a monthly get-together with meditation, chanting, relaxation and a communal dinner.

Satyananda Yoga has two major retreat centres in NSW and in Victoria offering weekend retreats and longer, in-depth studies of yoga.
